College World Series -- The End

OMAHA, Neb.--It's over.

Not quite sure how to put it more elequently, but that's pretty short and sweet. Clemson blew a three-run lead and let the go-ahead run score in the eighth inning and couldn't get it back. They even had a chance to come back. With one man on base, twice the winning run stepped up to the plate and twice the batter was out; the second went down swinging.

Effort was there, sure. For some reason, the relievers couldn't hold the upstart Titans and the Clemson batting fell apart.

So, it was over pretty unceremoniously. And after the game I packed up my stuff, said my goodbyes and was off into the night.
